PhotoEspaña is calling for entries for Descrubrimientos PHE, opened to professional photographers of any nationality, age, discipline, and trajectory.
To register, candidates must be PHE users and enter their email and password. Candidates can upload a maximum of 15 photographs with the following characteristics: jpg format, 700px in their shortest side, weighing up to 300kb. There are no restrictions concerning technique, theme, or date of production. It is recommended that photographs belong to a single series, for the jury to evaluate the work in greater depth.
Registration closes on February 27th, 2013. An independent jury will select 70 participants. A number of candidates will be kept in reserve, in case of cancellation. The portfolios selected and the photographer's information will be published in PhotoEspaña's web page.
Viewing of portfolios
Each photographer will have seven appointments in the three days of the viewing. Each appointment will last 20 minutes, strictly enforced. Viewing can be on paper or digital media (photographer's must bring the support).
The organization will make all efforts for each photographer to have the maximum number of preferences, but this will depend on the number of requests by the viewers. Each participant's personal calendar will be communicated as the viewing dates approach.
A committee will select the winner of Descubrimientos PHE from among the participants. If the committee so determines, two special mentions will be awarded. Jury decisions will not be subject to appeal.
The winner of the prize can be a participant in previous editions, but not the recipient of any previous awards. PhotoEspaña will announce the name in the PhotoEspaña Awards. The organization reserves the right to use the images in its communications, catalog, and any promotional activity.
