Dario Escobar recipient the Premio Carlos Mérida 2020
On Wednesday, December 16, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Guatemala recognized the oeuvre of Darío Escobar with the Premio Carlos Mérida 2020 at the Salón de Recepciones del Palacio Nacional de la Cultura.
The distinction created on January 7, 2016, through Ministerial Agreement No. 12-2016, is awarded to individuals who work in fine arts or have made contributions to the benefit of the country's art and culture. Culture is an important part of Guatemala's development and encourages, promotes, and disseminates the fine arts. It is granted annually, and a call is made in June through the General Directorate of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The award consists of a scroll and the delivery of Q50 thousand.
