Visions of Art Online Exhibition Design Class

This class, 100% in a distance-learning mode, will be held between February 25th through March 18th, 2014. The deadline for application is February 18th, 2014. Iohanna Nicenbiom will be in charge of instruction; her class will explore the design and conceptualization of exhibition spaces that foster communication, interaction, and connectivity between the art, the space, and the audience. The seminar's goal is to generate an environment of experimentation and exchange in order to integrate, in a natural way, the different aspects of an at exhibit and achieve the symbiosis of space and content. The course is designed for participants to acquire tools for mapping, analyzing, and manipulating space, using everything from elements found in their surroundings to complex techniques such as 3D design and multimedia devices. Students in the class will be able to develop a personal project and acquire practical knowledge in mapping a special situation, planning a brief creative scheme, and develop the presentation of a design proposal for an exhibition. Prior knowledge or special software are not required. This course is offered by Visions of Art: Online Art Center in collaboration with the Node Center for Curatorial Studies, in Berlin, and will be given in Spanish. It includes video-conferences every Tuesday at 7 pm (Central European time), which will be recorded for use by those who cannot attend in real time. Follow-up and tutoring will be continuous throughout the course. Participants who complete the course's evaluations will receive a certificate, printed or digital, from Visions of Art. The cost is 145 euros and availability is limited. For more information and the complete program, visit www.visionsofart.org
