Curatorial Fellowship

New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art offers a two-year fellowship for curatorial training, fully integrated into one of the Museum's curatorial departments. The fellow will have the opportunity to engage in an independent project, under the supervision of his or her tutor, designated by the Museum, and will work as a member of one of the institution's curatorial teams. Through weekly meetings and workshops, the fellow will also participate in research sharing and activities that explore the inner workings of the Met. Candidates must hold a Doctoral Degree (or its international equivalent) in Art History or Archaeology. Applicants must submit a proposal connecting their work with one of the following Met departments: The Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas; Arts and Armor; the Robert Lehman Collection. The fellow will receive a yearly salary of approximately US$52,000, and up to US$6,000 for research and travel expenses.
