The Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico presents a great exhibition of Latin American video art entitled Cosmovideographies, Latin American Video Art 1997-2011.
Under the curatorship of Celia Riboulet, the exhibition includes works by 8 artists from Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico. The participating artists are: Juan Manuel Echevarría, Tomás Ochoa, Andriana Meyer-Ochoa, Clemencia Echeverri, Sebastián Díaz-Morales, Charly Nijensohn, Iván Marino and Amanda Gutiérrez.
Cosmovideographies, Latin American Video Art 1997-2011 is a curatorial initiative aimed at exploring the points of coincidence that different Latin American artists find when working with video, video installation and animation, as they examine the narratives that form their identities. These are works that subvert and reinsert reflection on national and Latin American Colonial and post-Colonial history.
The exhibition will open to the public on June 20 and it will remain open through July 20 of 2013. It will be exhibited a the Galería Central of the CENART.
