Photographer Salvatore Elefante, along with Trocadero Project and Roberto Mata Taller Fotográfico, invite the photography community to participate in a curatorial proposal projected to culminate on an exhibition in late 2013. This call for submissions is open to photographers from anywhere in the world whose projects, whether finalized or in progress, display conceptual and aesthetic coherence, as one of the intentions of the project is to launch an investigation around the work of emerging artists.
The call for submissions will remain open through August 6th, 2012. Candidates must send a selection of images from their projects —JPEG format, with a resolution of 1800 pixels on the longest side— and a brief explanatory text including the technique used, for the pre-selection phase, to cosc.project2@gmal.com. The subject matter is free. Any question about the process will be answered via the same email address.
Salvatore Elefante (Italy, 1980) graduated in Photography from the IDEP in Barcelona, and holds a Master's degree from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki. His work has been exhibited in Morocco, Monterrey, Beijing, Paris, New York, Naples, Lausanne, and Barcelona, among other cities. He is the author of regeneration 2 — Photographers of Tomorrow, Today (2010), Catalogue of Emergent Lleida — Photography and Visual Arts International Festival (2010), and Grano. Studio multimediale sulla Festa dei Covoni di Frigento (2008). His work is part of the collections of the Musée de l'Elysée (Lausanne, Switzerland), Michaelis School of Fine Arts (Cape Town, South Africa), and Aperture Foundation (New York, USA).
The Trocadero Project is an initiative launched by photographer Carlos De Castro and Roberto Mata Taller de Fotografía with the intention of offering Venezuela's photography community an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with relevant world-renowned artists. Trocadero has also functioned as a platform for local photographers to present their work abroad.
