The meeting is organized by Latin American Cultural Space (LACS), the Consulate of El Salvador in Washington DC and the Director General of Attention to the Community in the Exterior of the Vice ministry of Exterior Relations for El Salvadorians in the Exterior. All artists and photographers of El Salvadorian origin or descent who are resident in the United States may participate. The exhibition is open to all forms of expression and photographic resources whether they are traditional or digital methods. The minimum size of photographs is 11¿ x 14¿. There is no maximum size limit but works of more than 16¿ x 20¿ will be exhibited without frames. If the work exceeds 24¿ x 30¿, the artists should give detailed instructions on how the works should be exhibited without a frame. The application and information required should be receives before March 15th 2006. Any inscription received after this date will not be taken into account. The exhibitions will take place in the David J. Guzmán Museum in San Salvador, El Salvador, in June 2006 and in the Salvadorian Cultural Space in Washington DC en September of the same year. The selection jury will be composed of professionals in the field and the Cultural Aggregate of the Embassy of El Salvador in Washington DC. The participants with chosen works will be contacted during March 2006. The work to be exhibited should be sent, without frame, to Washington DC immediately after the artist has been notified. The final indications will be made known to the selected artists and photographers. The complete exhibition can be visited in our web page during the period of the exhibition. CONDITIONS OF INSCRIPTION: Each artist can send, in digital form, a maximum of 5 photographs of images. These should be set in JPG format of around 8¿ x 10¿ in size in 150dpi (1500x1200 pixels) in a CD. Each participant should sent with the images the application, a personal photo (in JPG format), a biography that included a CV (studies, experience and recognitions) and a description and synopsis of each photo or work presented in an extension of a maximum of 100 words per photo or work. All the information provided and the CD will not be returned. They will form part of the database of artists maintained by LACS. The selected artists will be responsible for the cost of mailing (and return) of their works to Washington DC. LACS and the government of El Salvador will be responsible for the mailing to El Salvador and return to Washington DC.
