Rhe King Juan Carlos I of New York University presents the second edition of Region 0, to he held in May, 2013, in New York City, USA.
Region 0 is a terms of the audiovisual field used informally to refer to the notion of a "worldwide" or "global" format. Region 0 alludes to that idea of audiovisual material that transcends national borders.
The Latino Video Art festival of New York was first held in March of 2011, also at NYU's King Juan Carlos I Center, and it traveled to Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Spain, and across the US.
The call is open to Spanish, Latin American, and US Latino artists 21 years or older. Themes are open and artists can present up to two videos. The videos must have been produced after 2009 and be no longer than 10 minutes.
If the works submitted contain dialog, texts, or songs relevant for a full understanding in a language other than English, they must be subtitled to English. Submissions are accepted from February 15th through March 15th. Works submitted after this deadline will not be accepted.
The selection of participating videos will be made online. All works must be submitted via the Internet.
Selection
The selection and curatorship of the festival's video program will be made by Eva Mendoza Chandas, festival curator, who will select works submitted as long as they adhere to the established requirements. Participants will be selected in consideration of their quality, originality of their proposal, and their aesthetic and conceptual exploration.
