The Gilberto Alzate-Avendaño Foundation announces its call for international curatorial residencies, aimed at developing encounters, and extending and consolidating international relations and artistic exchanges.
The call welcomes international curators interested in developing a curatorial research project in the city of Bogotá. They must have at least 5 years of professional experience in organizing and promoting visual art projects and must demonstrate that they have worked and completed no less than three public presentations. Curators must understand the manner in which networks of artists and their works operate and circulate. Likewise, they must have experience in various research fields as creators of exhibiting projects, in programs offering support to artists, and in collective projects and others that deal with the production of art discourses and meditation tools.
Curators of Colombian nationality, groups, collectives, temporary partnerships, or consortiums cannot participate.
The proposals must lead to projects that are a result of research addressing a particular exhibition concept; they must follow an analysis of artistic practices and discourses in Colombian art, specifically as they relate to Bogotá and the city¿s relationship to other contexts.
Proposals must be submitted with the following documentation:
A photocopy of the applicant¿s ID.
The applicant¿s résumé containing information from the last 5 years, accompanied by a one-page introductory letter explaining the person¿s interests as they relate to the curatorial career, and photocopies of supporting documentation (Diplomas, student records and transcripts, catalogs, invitations, etc.) accrediting the attributes sought for the competition.
The application form thoroughly completed and signed by the participant. This form can be downloaded at www.fgaa.gov.co
