Incubarte 2012, the Independent Art Festival, is calling for entries to its 5th edition, with the goal of promoting and highlighting contemporary art in Valencia. The call is open to artists of any age or nationality. Candidates must complete the submissions form through the event's web page. (*) The deadline for submissions is April 15th, 2012. Individual artists or groups can apply with a maximum of three entries in any of the accepted disciplines. The rules by discipline are: Painting: works in any style, format, and technique, on any support. This discipline includes drawing and illustration. For selection, submission of physical works is not required, but up to five photographs with a 72dpi resolution is accepted. Send entry forms to:
pintura@incubarte.org. Sculpture/installation: works in any material, organic or inorganic. Works can use sound, lights, video, and mechanical or electrical motion. Works presented as a digital photographic project will be considered. This discipline includes Art-Nature projects. The maximum dimensions for entries in this category will be: base, 4 meters; depth, 4 meters; height, 4 meters. Send entry forms to:
escultura@incubarte.org. Photography: photographs in analog or digital support, black and white or color, and computer-generated works. Maximum dimensions for each submission is 150 cm per side. For selection, physical work is not required; send a digital version in 72dpi. For serial works, each individual photograph in the series will be considered one entry. The series must not contain more than three photographs. Send entry forms to:
fotografía@incubarte.org. Video creation: includes any kind of audio-visual language using a mono-channel format. Works must be 10 minutes long or shorter, including title and end credits. Priority will be given to proposals perceived as risk-taking in their format or concept. For selection, upload the work to www.vimeo.com and send the link with the entry form to:
video@incubarte.org, from which it will be included in the festival's official channel. The list of works selected will be published on May 2nd, 2012, in the festival's web page. The jury, comprised of gallerists, will award prizes consisting in an exhibition proposal and contract. Each jury can grant more than one prize. Additionally, the Incubarte-Club Diario Levante Special Award will be given: an extraordinary exhibition with the winner's work.
