In the context of the Call for Incentives 2013, the Program for the Strengthening of Museums of the Museo Nacional de Colombia—Ministry of Culture—invites individuals, museums and institutions with museology initiatives, to participate in the 2013 Call for Incentives.
This year, the call includes a section for Museology Projects and Initiatives of Memories with three types of grants and two awards, aimed at promoting de development of museographies and supporting initiatives geared toward the recovery the historic memory across the regions of the country.
The projects summited in the call must be solid, coherent, innovative and creative, and it is necessary that its content focusses on museology and/or museography themes. The Program for the Strengthening of Museums invites those interested in participating to learn about the rules and requirements of the call, to keep in mind the deadline so they can prepare their projects on time.
The grants and awards include the following categories:
- Grants to projects geared toward museum renovations.
- Research grants centered on museology projects.
- Grants for museology projects with and emphasis on the historic memory associated with the armed conflict.
- Awards for museum initiatives of the historic memory associated with the armed conflict.
- Awards for the creation of productive units at museums.
The Program for the Strengthening of Museums of the Museo Nacional de Colombia—Ministry of Culture—aims at, among other purposes, the promotion of the organization of the sector, the design of strategies for the management of the cultural patrimony in museums, the support to develop qualified professionals associated with museum entities, and the strengthening of initiatives to pursue and sustain projects, as well as the backing of several museology fields.
