The Latin American Thought section of the Cordoba government's Secretary of Culture is calling independent researchers and artists to apply for the Research Support Program, intended to provide financial support to independent research projects on regional topics. The deadline is October 7th. For this year, the section¿s framework, "Diversities in Latin America", includes among its objectives teaching, debate, diffusion, experimentation, and research activities in matters of Latin American art, thought, and culture. The purpose is to salvage practices, knowledges, and rationalities of communal, ancestral, and counter-hegemonic origin that can propitiate inter-cultural dialog. The program will give $5000 Argentinean pesos each to two concrete projects. The thematic areas selected for this year are: in the social sciences, The Informal Economy; in the arts, Performance. Projects will be evaluated by a five-member committee: Belkys Scolamieri, Silvia Villegas, Susana Roitman, Andrea Lacombe, and a representative of the Latin American Thought section.
