Casa del Lago presents the group show Conocer el mundo con la boca, sin que te piquen las espinas (Knowing the world with your mouth, without the thorns biting you) under the curatorial direction of Beto Díaz and Dea López. The exhibition invites to explore food as a space of connection between body, territory and identity.
The exhibition presents 42 works by 37 artists who use different visual approaches to address some of the rituals and knowledges surrounding food: healing practices, transmission of knowledge and construction of memory. Conocer el mundo con la boca, sin que te piquen las espinas (Knowing the world with your mouth, without the thorns biting you) unfolds a journey in which the mouth names and tells stories. Paintings, installations and videos dialogue around food as an act that, from the common, traces different meanings creating a geography in the palate and memory.
