Last June 18th, 2012, King Juan Carlos of Spain awarded a group of 24 Ibero-American artists at the Sala Magna of Madrid's Supreme Court.
The award came in conjunction with the exhibition 200 años de la constitución del tribunal de España (1812-2012), which opened on the same day.
The show will be accompanied by the publication of a volume containing serigraphic reproductions of the participating works, with a print run of 5000 copies. The books will be donated to Latin American governments and to participating museum institutions.
Among others, the group of artists included Osvaldo Vigas (Venezuela), José Luis Cuevas (Mexico), Fernando de Szyszlo (Peru), Antonio López (Spain), Alberto Carneiro (Portugal), and Rosa Tavárez (Dominican Republic).
After its stay in Madrid, 200 años de la constitución del tribunal de España (1812-2012) will travel to Europe and the Americas, visiting countries where the Cervantes Institute has a presence.
