Ediciones El País, in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute, is calling for entries to the Photography competition "Concurso Universo en Español," open to all individuals 18 and older, without regard for nationality or place of residence. The competition is established for the following two categories: Portraiture Prize, for photographs of artists, well-known historical figures, anonymous persons, intellectuals, and icons, who represent the identity of the Land of Don Quixote to the world (one photograph minimum, three maximum); Stories Prize, for photo-reportage, travels, landscapes, visions, everyday scenes, historical moments, everything that is possible and notable within the borders of the Spanish language throughout the seven continents (8 photographs minimum, 12 maximum). Interested participants must submit their entries before November 20th, 2011 via traditional mail to: EL PAÍS SEMANAL C/ Miguel Yuste, 40. 28037, Madrid, Spain or via email under the subject: "Universo en español" to
elpaissemanalretrato@elpais.es(for Portraiture) and/or
elpaissemanalhistorias@elpais.es (for Stories). Submissions must include the participant¿s full name, age, address and email (maximum 1MB per photograph submitted).
