The Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation calls for submissions towards a curatorial fellowship for local curators interested in investigating and analyzing artistic production in the city of Bogotá, with the purpose of developing a project to be presented in one or several countries in 2013.
This program is addressed to professional curators experienced in the planning, development, and communication of curatorial projects in the visual-arts field as well as with an understanding of the operative mechanisms of the networks in which artists and their practices develop and circulate.
To participate, curators must have experience in the production of exhibition projects, collaborative projects, art-focused discourses, and/or mediation tools.
The project to be developed through this fellowship will be accompanied by the production and publication of the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation's catalog, provided that its costs are in accordance to the budgetary resources assigned to that effect.
The project can also be executed on the basis of the participant's arrangements with an international institution or through the support of international-relations agents (such as embassies, bi-national centers, cultural organizations, etc.)
The fellowship will consist of fifteen million Colombian pesos (15'000,000 m/cte), to be used by the winner for the expenditures involved in the development of the investigation.
Interested participants must register on August 1, 3, and 6, 2012 through the Gerencia de Artes Plásticas y Visuales FGAA of the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation.
