Created in 1993 with the purpose of exalting and supporting Colombian art, the National BBVA Painting Contest (of the Banco Ganadero), reaches its 12th edition. In this occasion the contest will award prizes for 20 million Colombian pesos. Colombian artists with a professional title in visual arts are eligible to participate as well as visual arts students, or individuals who certify a minimum record of 3 exhibitions. Those interested should register a minimum number of three works in two dimensions, and a maximum of five, created after the year 2002. These should not exceed 2 x 2 m and cannot be a part of any other contest or have won any previous awards. Registration forms may be claimed during August in all the assigned offices.
