Until May 14th, 2011, "Collecting Contemporary Art" will be on exhibit at ASU Art Museum (Arizona State University Art Museum). This collection is composed of diverse works by recognized artists of different nationalities, with the majority being Latin Americans. The compilation of mixed media works relate to and provoke social themes. The multiculturalism of this exhibition proposes to create an analogy between World and Salon-a Salon that contains artists, from different places, as it had been enunciated previously; with pieces that are charged with symbolisms that represent social and political problems within the same space (world). Some of the participants in this exhibition are the Cuban artists Abel Barroso, Kcho, Los Carpinteros and Aimee García Marrero; Enrique Chagoya of Mexico; and Nenflidio Paulo and Adriana Varejão Weiser of Brazil.
