COLECCIÓN PATRICIA PHELPS DE CISNEROS (CPPC) ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTOR
Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro joins the CPPC effective April 15, 2008
On November 30, 2007, Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, co-founder and chairman of the Fundación Cisneros and its visual arts program, the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC), announced the appointment of Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro, curator of Latin American art at the Blanton Museum of Art, The University of Texas at Austin, as director of the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros. Dr. Pérez-Barreiro, who assumes his post effective April 15, 2008, succeeds Rafael Romero D., director of the CPPC since 1998, who has been named director emeritus and senior advisor.
Mrs. Cisneros states, “The CPPC team came to know Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro well over the course of a multiyear scholarly collaboration between the CPPC and the Blanton Museum.
