Cildo Meireles. Installations

The exhibition entitled Cildo Meireles, Installations, the first retrospective in Italy centered on the Brazilian artist, will remain open to the public from March 27 to July 13 of 2014. Curated by Vicente Todolí, this exhibition will include large installations created between 1970 and today. It will invite the public to participate both physically and emotionally. Organized by HangarBicocca, the retrospective will offer an in-depth understanding of the physical, sensorial and poetic aspects of a body of work that questions and often turn preconceived ideas upside-down. The exhibition has been jointly organized by the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain) and the Museu de Arte Contemporánea de Serralves (Oporto, Portugal). It represents a great opportunity to see works like Cruzeiro do Sul (Southbound Cruise, 1969-1970) alongside pieces like Através (Through, 1983-1989), Entrevendo (Glimpsing, 1979-1994) and Babel (2001).
