Born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico in 1974. Chemi Rosado¿ work is conceptually rooted in the search for identity at the individual level as well as at the political one. ¿Tapar Para Ver¿ (Cover In Order To See) is one of his projects. In this case he intends to increase the awareness of the people towards the influence of commercial communication in our daily lives. Covering words in phrases changes their meaning sometimes reversing it. The project started by painting over commercial street advertising ending obviously after some police encounters. The next step was the construction of several wooden boxes with newspaper collages under the same conceptual premises. The whole set was chosen to be exhibited at the 2002 Whitney Biennial. Chemi Rosado has also exhibited at Fundacion Joan Miro, Barcelona; ARCO 2001, Madrid; Chicago as well as in all museums in Puerto Rico
