¿There is an interchange between the stones and me. They stir dormant images inside me. I help them, the way I feel it, to develop their power to express themselves¿.
Carlos Millot´s work impresses us because of its original proposal and our interest increases as we go deeper into his creative process. "...the first rule of the game is that the shape of the stone is not modified at all¿, the artist says. The essential features of its nature are kept. My intervention is as minimal as possible in order to allow the Entity-Character the stone represents to be born. That is, the Soul I try to help the stone show.¿ It is not a sculpture since it is not carved; the stone is taken as it was found in its natural environment. It is not a painting since I do not create a specific image on a stone. The stone is not a support but a protagonist. Lines and stains seek to discover the character the stone suggests through its cracks, relief, spaces and shapes. It is all about the way the artist unveils them, knows how to look at them, interprets them. "¿ in a multitude of stones, it is possible to see something like signals, gestures and expressions of life. The challenge exists to unravel the underlying mystery. At the beginning it is a game, then a challenge and a quest."
