Carlos Garaicoa, Photography as Intervention

The Fundación ICO (Instituto de Crédito Oficial), presents until September 2012 a selection of photographs created during the last twenty years by Cuban artist Carlos Garaicoa.

Photography as Intervention is a compilation of assorted images full of artistic inquiries about the architectural spaces from Garaicoa's homeland.

The exhibition gathers early photographic processes in which Garaicoa revealed a clear interest in documentary work. Later images of traditional photographs intervened with the use of several mediums are also included in the show.

The Fundación ICO will also present a book that exclusively delves into Garaicoa's photographic production and that will include some of the works that are part of the exhibition as well as others never shown before.
