Canariasmediafest 2010.

The honorable inter-island Council of Gran Canaria, through its Ministry of Culture and Historical and Cultural Patrimony, announces the Fourteenth Canariasmediafest. International Festival of the Arts and Digital Cultures of Gran Canaria, a biennial event celebrated in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria from November 22 - 27, 2010. The call is open to individual authors or collectives of any nationality. For the purposes of this competition authors are defined exclusively as those who created the works. Only works created after January 1, 2009, will be accepted. Categories: - Video Creation - Experimental or Creational Documentary - 2D and 3D Animation Presentation, Formats, and Exhibition of the Works: Each individual or collective participant may submit up to three works for each prize category. Audiovisual works cannot be longer than thirty five minutes. The works must be presented in English or Spanish. In cases in which the language used in the works is other than English or Spanish, then the works must be subtitled in one of these two languages. All of the works selected¿with the exception of installations¿will be publicly exhibited during the celebration of the Festival, in accordance with the event's regulations. The deadline to submit all the works is November 10, 2010, at 14:00 GMT. The works will only be accepted for participation if they are entered by the participants in the following manner: Participants must register as such online in the corresponding section of the Festival's homepage: www.canariasmediafest2010.eu. There, participants will find all the information about the call. The Ministry of Culture and Historical and Cultural Patrimony will ensure the integrity of the works, but it will not be responsible in any way for any damages or losses that may occur during the delivery of the works. Therefore, participants may choose to ensure the works if they deem appropriate. A list of the works admitted in the competition will be available online at the Festival's official homepage.
