Camila Pazos, FAARA Residency Coordinator (Fundación Ama Amoedo Residencia Artística)

FAARA recently announced the appointment of Camila Pazos as coordinator of its artist residency FAARA.
The Fundación Ama Amoedo Residencia Artística (FAARA) is a residency whose purpose is to offer a space for research, work, and creative review, at a nature retreat in Jose Ignacio, Uruguay.
It takes place in "Casa Neptuna," a house specially commissioned by the Argentine artist Edgardo Gimenez.
The inaugural Selection Committee is composed of Magalí Arriola (Director of Museo Tamayo in Mexico City), Inti Guerrero (Artistic Director of Bellas Artes Projects in the Philippines and tutor of the KASK Curatorial Studies program in Belgium), and Aimé Iglesias Lukin (Director of Americas Society in New York).
Selected artists will have access to live and work spaces at Casa Neptuna, participate in a program of activities designed for their research, and receive a grant to support their artistic endeavors.
At the end of the residency, the artists will participate in a group exhibition in Miami as part of Miami Art Week.
Camila Pazos is an art historian and curator who graduated with honors in Fine Arts from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Since 2019, as a result of her work as artist coordinator in the production of the international festival of Contemporary Art in Pueblo Garzón [@campo.garzon], Camila begins to reside between Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Maldonado, forging ties between both sides of the Rio de la Plata. In parallel, she has worked as a researcher for regional private collections, a contributor to art magazines, and a researcher and writer on contemporary art. She currently lives and works between Montevideo and José Ignacio.
