Bordes y Desbordes

The show Bordes y desbordes de una ciudad, a selection of images recording the deep and traumatic shifts underwent by the city of Buenos Aires between 1930 and our times, remained open to the public through July 31st. The show included 90 images by some of the country¿s most important photographers, such as Horacio Coppola , Grete Stern, Flavia Da Rin, Annemarie Heinrich, Juan Di Sandro, Sameer Makarius, Alicia D'Amico, Diego Ortiz Mugica, and Aldo Sessa, among others. Curated by Virginia Fabri in collaboration with Ignacio Giorgio, the show wondered whether, as cities transform, our lives are ultimately better than they were, considering factors such as urban sprawl, the proliferation of recreational spaces, street rallies, the growth in public works, unemployment, drug consumption, picketing, the local phenomenon of the cartoneros, and violence, all of them signs on the social body. The works on exhibit come from private collections, artists, and the following galleries: Vasari, Jorge Mara La Ruche, Ignacio Liprandi, Foster-Catena, Dabbah Torrejón, and Ruth Benzacar.
