Aimed at promoting the creation of artistic works that advance technological development, the Objeto A space presents the second edition of the Kosice Biennial (2012 edition). The event was conceived to stimulate the creation, experimentation and research of multimedia works by artist working with new technologies who are inspired by the work of pioneer and teacher Gyula Kosice.
This award is given to the winner of a sole competition category: artistic proposals that develop multimedia technological projects that meet the aesthetic and conceptual precepts contained in the work entitled Ciudad Hidroespacial (Hydrospatial City) by Gyula Kosice. In the developing their projects, participants must include one or more of the governing elements in Kosice's work: water, light, and/or movement.
The jury panel will be formed by Graciela Taquini, Rodrigo Alonso, Tomás Oulton (Objeto A), and Gyula Kosice. The First Prize will offer a purse of 5,000.00 USD, and the Second Prize will receive 1,000.00 USD..
The deadline to enter all applications is Wednesday, May 2. International guest projects will be accepted from foreign artists living abroad and foreign artists who have been living in Argentina for less than two years. Of course, these projects must also meet the requirements established by the call.
The projects selected will be exhibited at the Galileo Galilei Planetarium, during the month of September—in the context of the 2012 Kosice Biennial—in the area of foreign guest projects.
