Whitney Biennial 2022

Until September 6 the Whitney Museum is presenting the Whitney Biennial. Titled “Quiet as It’s Kept”, the biennial has surveyed the landscape of American art, reflecting, and shaping the cultural conversation, since 1932. The eightieth edition of the landmark exhibition is co-curated by David Breslin, DeMartini Family Curator and Director of Curatorial Initiatives, and Adrienne Edwards, Engell Speyer Family Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs.
The biennial features an intergenerational and interdisciplinary group of sixty-three artists and collectives whose dynamic works reflect the challenges, complexities, and possibilities of the American experience today. Among the artists that are part of this edition are: Coco Fusco, Alfredo Jaar, Charles Ray, Guadalupe Rosales, Daniel Joseph Martínez, and Awilda Sterling-Duprey. The biennial also includes artists from cities bordering the United States, as a way to explore border interaction, artists like Monica Arriola (Tijuana, Mexico); Duane Linklater (North Bay, Canada (Robinson Huron Treaty Territory); Alejandro "Luperca" Morales (Monterrey, Mexico) and Andrew Roberts (Tijuana, Mexico).
