Monterrey Biennial

With the purpose of recognizing, reinforcing, and stimulating artistic creation in Mexico, the 10th Monterrey Biennial Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA) is again calling for entries. Winners will receive a 200,000-pesos award and their work will be exhibited at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO). The call is open to Mexican nationals or foreigners living in the country for two years or more. Individual or collective entrants must present a minimum of two two- or three-dimensional works before December 2nd, 2011. Each artist or group can present up to four two-dimensional works of 200 cm on each side, or four three-dimensional works of 300 X 300 X 300 cm, not exceeding 800 kg in weight. Participants must also use materials and elements that allow for the future assemblage of their work, which excludes art that is ephemeral in nature or that endangers the safety of people in the building. The 10th Biennial Monterrey FEMSA will also grant two cultural residences: one to each artist awarded an honorary mention in each format. For more information, visit www.femsa.com
