The Honduras Biennial brings together visual artists in the country with the goal of contributing their regional presence at the Central-American Isthmus Visual Arts Biennial (BAVIC). Since 2006, the Association of Women in the Arts (MUA) has assumed the coordination, with the exclusive sponsorship of Honduras' Banco Promerica and the Ortiz Guardián Foundation. The Honduras Biennial will be held in May and June, 2014, at the Museo para la Identidad Nacional (MIN). International curator Orlando Britto Jinorio will be in charge of this 5th edition of the biennial, title Spaces of Encounter. His curatorial proposal will seek to develop and present projects that assume the space of contemporary art as a space of continuous encounters to rethink the world from new perspectives. Britto Jinorio proposes the construction and design of projects in open, multiple, and diverse formats, based on individual initiatives that include a collective perspective; projects conceived by community actors of artists' collectives working in community contexts; and projects designed or signed collectively, with a group or community-based character. Bayardo Blandino is in charge or the Biennial's art direction. More information at:
