The Biennial of Contemporary Art SACO calls the artists for submissions invites for their main exhibition, called "Aluvión."
The selected artists will have approximately ten days of residence at the Instituto Superior Latinoamericano de Arte (ISLA) for the materialization and assembly of their works. After the inauguration, they will participate in a trip to contextualize the territory towards the Atacama desert's interior.
A jury made up of 5 renowned representatives of the arts from different countries; will select seven proposals according to their quality, their relevance to the space to be intervened: the Muelle Histórico Melbourne Clark in Antofagasta; and mainly, its relationship with the curatorial concept of "Aluvión."
Proposals for interventions outside the dock (at sea, between the rocks, on the boardwalk, etc.) or projections that use electricity of any kind (projector, television, etc.) will not be accepted. The exhibition will only work in daylight. The winning works must guarantee an exhibition period of no less than two months. Works that can be seen and understood from the 360 ° of the route will be privileged.
The call is open to visual artists of any nationality, professional and self-taught, without limit of age, training, professional experience, work dedication, or any other factor. The main criteria that will be evaluated are the proposal's quality, viability, and relevance.
The call is open until April 12, at midnight (continental Chile).
