Beth Moysés and Regina José Galindo among the performers at Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza

The Museum presents the first edition of Vision and Presence, a yearly cycle of performances by women artists curated by Semíramis González, highlighting the relationship between art and the ongoing challenges to achieve gender equality in the present day.
In its first edition, the performances by Beth Moyses, Regina José Galindo, Verónica Ruth Frías, Noemí Iglesias Barrios, and Costa Badía will address issues related to women and feminism, such as romantic love, gender violence, social welfare, the invisibility of women artists until now, or the aging of our societies, given the low birth rate.
The program was titled after the text by Griselda Pollock, Vision and Difference, published in 1988. Pollock is a feminist scholar that has devoted her life to writing more inclusive historiography. Her essays are one of the most important and influential of the field, analyzing the relationship between women and art.
From March to June and in September and October, one Wednesday a month (17:30), these free live performances taking place in different spaces in the Museum will allow spectators to interact with each of the artists and their works.
