The Organization of American States, OAS, is calling for applications to its Fellowships for Graduate Study or Graduate Research.
The OAS academic fellowships are awarded for full-time study towards a Master's Degree or a Doctorate, or for graduate research towards a university degree (no post-docs), in educational institutions of its Member States. The course of study can be presence-based, distant-learning, or any combination of the two.
The academic fellowships have a monetary maximum of US$30,000 by academic year. With these funds, recipients must cover: back and forth air transportation; registration and mandatory administrative charges; yearly textbook assignation (US$300 for presence-based courses and $1,000 for distant learning); health insurance (only for presence-based courses); monthly complementary subsistence allowances, for fellows in presence-based programs and according to the country on which the study takes place.
This financial is complementary in nature; this is to say, they are not intended to cover
the totality of the fellow's expenses. Not every fellowship includes the same benefits, since they are granted on a case-by-case basis.
The monthly contribution is fixed and will not cover 100% of the student's expenses; fellows will have to demonstrate sufficient additional funds to cover their monthly requirements.
The deadline for application is April 11, 2014. To learn about universities included in the program and the complete application requirements, visit http://www.oas.org/es/becas/programa_regular.asp
