The Colombian Ministry of Culture and Fulbright Colombia open their call for five scholarships aimed at Colombian artists and professionals who would like to attend graduate and doctoral programs in the U.S. beginning August 2010. The areas of study offered include Visual and Fine Arts (painting, sculpture, engraving, performance, new media, and technologies, folk-art materials as media for artistic expression), photography, music, urban design, design for visual and artistic expression, dance, theater, art history and art theory, curatorial studies, museography, restoration, and artistic therapies. Applicants must have finished their undergraduate studies and have demonstrated an outstanding professional trajectory. They must also have a comfortable command of the English language and must reside in Colombia at the moment of applying for the call. The Fulbright scholarship covers the partial or total cost for tuition fees, university registration fees, intensive English or pre-academic course fees in the U.S., airplane tickets, and medical insurance.
