The Fundación Botín presents six Visual Arts Grants for training, research, and solo projects for artistic creation (not theoretical work) for artists of any nationality. One of these grants will be awarded prioritizing Spaniards or residents (at least five years immediately before applying for the grant) under 30 years of age to travel abroad to continue their work, study, or stay in residence. The call will be open until September 3, 2021.
The duration of this scholarship will be nine months. An extension may be requested if the scholarship has been outside the place of origin, being necessary to submit a new application within the deadlines of the public call, which will be evaluated along with other applications on equal terms.
DOTATION
The amount of each of the scholarships is 23,000 euros.
This amount includes the concepts of travel, accommodation, meals, studio rental, etc.
Medical insurance will increase this amount (only if there is a change of country of residence).
These scholarships are subject to current taxation in Spain.
Form of payment:
•45% at the beginning
•25% in the following two quarters
•5% upon receipt of the final report
The funds will be enjoyed from the moment granted, for the agreed period, and without interruption. It must start before the end of 2021.
The grant will be considered definitively awarded when the Foundation has received the applicant's written acceptance.
DOCUMENTATION
The application form must be filled through the website www.fundacionbotin.org or www.centrobotin.org/becas.
The other required documentation must be sent on paper, indicating on the envelope VISUAL ARTS GRANT. The online form is indispensable to be able to associate the documentation.
The documentation provided with the application will preferably be in Spanish; exceptionally, it will be accepted in English.
The appointed jury will make the selection. The Fundación Botín's decision will be final. The jury will be made public once the deadline for receipt of applications has closed.
The decision will be announced on Monday, October 11, 2021, through www.fundacionbotin.org and www.centrobotin.org/becas.
