The Ministry of External Affairs and Cooperation (MAEC), the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and the Rafael del Pino Foundation have opened their yearly call for applications to Fellowships in the Spanish Academy in Rome, 2012-2013. These Fellowships are intended for researchers, creative artists, and restorers from Spain and Latin America, and their purpose is to give greater visibility to Spanish culture in Italy. The duration of the Fellowship is from October 1st, 2012, to June 30th, 2013, by quarters. Applicants will chose a three, six, or nine month period, according to the time required for the execution of their projects. Applicants must be Spanish or Latin American citizens, with no age restrictions. A college degree or proven experience as a creative artist are required. Interested candidates coming from a European Union country must have mastery of the Spanish language, and be official residents in Spain at the time of their application. Certified photocopy of valid passport (for Latin American applicants) or DNI (for Spanish applicants) 4. European Union certification (for European Union candidates) 5. Certified copy of highest degree from a University or educational center. 6. Curriculum Vitae (1 page maximum) 7. Description of the Fellowship project, consisting of: a dossier (50 pages maximum, can include images or photographs). Candidates can include any other information they deem necessary to justify their project (catalogs, music scores, photographs¿), as well as documentation of activities described in the C.V. section of the application form. This information must be submitted in a digital format (cd, dvd, etc.) 8. Originals of two recommendation letters from professors, professionals, or well-known figures, no more than one year old, relevant for their academic or professional connection to the applicant. The text of these letters must be pasted into the corresponding section of the electronic application form. 9. Recent passport photograph, with the applicant¿s name on the back. 10. If the applicant is subject to tax and Social Security duties in Spain, he or she must include certificates from the Tax Agency and the Social Security General Treasury. If not subject to these duties, he or she must include the affidavit found in Annex II in the web site. Documents submitted in a language different from Spanish must be accompanied by a translation. Applicants must present the required documents in person or by mail to the AECID General Registrar, Avenida Reyes Católicos, 4, 28040, Madrid, Spain. After the selection of candidates, the Evaluation Commission will present its proposal to the President of the AECID, who will publish on the web page the names of the Fellows and their alternates. The monthly stipend for each Fellow will be 1,200 euros. Additionally, the Fellowship will provide 500 euros for traveling expenses for Spanish fellows, and 1,600 euros for Latin American fellows. The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation will grant fellowships in Sculpture, Painting, Video, Printmaking, Architecture, Photography, Music and musicology, Stage Arts, Film, Literature (Valle-Inclán fellowship), Aesthetics and museum studies, Fine Arts theory, analysis, and criticism, and others.
