The Ministry of Culture of Colombia announced that the call for "Curatorial Research Grants of the 16th Regional Artists Salons" will remain open until June 16. The call aims at developing curatorial research based on the exploration of the artistic practices performed in the Central-Western Region of Colombia (Antioquia, Caldas, Quindío, and Risaralda) as well as in its Central Region (Bogota, Bocaya, and Cundinamarca). The result must produce a final report which includes an exhibition proposal that generates one or more readings geared towards broadening the understanding of the artistic practices from each region. The proposal will be reviewed and approved by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia in order to corroborate its adeptness as a base document for the development of one of the eight Regional Salons scheduled for 2018. Two (2) grants of $45 million Colombian pesos each will be offered; one for the Central Region—made possible by a partnership with IDARTES—and the other for the Central-Western Region. The call is open to groups in which at least two members in every group have already developed a curatorship or research project centered on the artistic practices of the region for which their group is applying. The groups may also include foreign researchers that reside in Colombia. For the complete rules of the call visit:
