The government of Mexico, through its agency for international development cooperation (AMEXCID), announces the opening of the call for participation in the 2015 Mexican Government Excellence Scholarship Program for International Students. One of the categories included in the call is the Scholarship for Creation of an artistic work with the support of a Mexican or foreign expert who resides in Mexico. Applications must be exclusively for creation and are open to artists, graduate students or academics with a verifiable trajectory in the discipline in which the artistic work will be created. The duration of the scholarship must be no less than one month and no more than six months. The call will remain open from April 10 through August 14 of 2015. The stays must take place between May and October of 2015 and candidates are required to submit the following information: • Completed and signed application form with a photograph. • Letter of invitation, from the Mexican institution in which the artistic project will be developed, which clearly states the title of the artistic project proposed, the name of the project's author and the dates in which his/her activities will begin and end. • A brief version of the candidate's curriculum vitae, in Spanish or translated into Spanish. • A letter from the candidate that outlines the reasons that motivated him/her to develop the work in Mexico and the objectives that he/she wishes to accomplish. • A structured work plan that includes a defined title and a chronogram of activities that precisely outlines the characteristics of the work that will be produced. • A Letter of recommendation from a known artist that attests to the candidate's attributes. • A portfolio with photographs of three artworks and two sketches of projects—including the dates in which they were created—that demonstrate the candidate's experience in the discipline pertaining to the residency that he/she is applying for. For musical projects, candidates must include recordings of three works in a good quality CD. • Original medical certificate of good health issued by a public or private medical institution and dated within the 3 (three) months before the submission of the application. Certificates from independent (non-institutional) medical practices will not be accepted. • Copy of Passport. • Four (4) original photographs (not digitally printed). The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of approximately USD $682. International transportation at the beginning and end of the scholarship. National transportation: Mexico City–place of destination–Mexico City. Medical insurance form IMSS, beginning in the third month of the scholarship.
