Grants for Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies

On February 2 the Fundación Botín will begin receiving applications for the 13th edition of its Visual Arts Grants and the 11th edition of its Curatorial Studies Grants. Participants must submit their paperwork no later than April 30 and May 8 respectively. These internationally important visual arts grants are aimed at supporting artists from any nationality in the study, research and completion of personal projects in the field of artistic creation. To complete their participation, the artists selected for the grant will participate with the works created during the fellowship in the exhibition Itineraries which will take place in the exhibition space of the Fundación Botín in Santander, Spain. The selected candidates will also participate in the publication of a reasoned catalogue. Candidates for the academic grants must be between the ages of 23 and 40. On the other hand, there is no age limit for applicants looking to participate in research and personal projects. The grant offers a purse of 16,000.00 euros for candidates living in Spain,, and 24,000.00 euros for those that must travel to Spain from other countries. To participate, candidates must fill the online application available at www.fundacionbotin.org between February 2 and April 30 of 2015. Curatorial Grants Fundación Botín also offers two academic grants for specializations in Exhibition Curatorship and Museum Management—otherwise known as Curatorial Studies —aimed at offering comprehensive professional training in the theories and techniques of museum management and the organization of exhibitions. The studies must be centered on contemporary art—from the vanguards to this day—and are aimed at individuals between the ages of 23 and 40 that have already earned an undergraduate, graduate or doctorate degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Philosophy and Aesthetics, Literature, Humanities or Art Criticism, or at art professionals between the ages of 23 and 40 who are able to demonstrate their training in the art field. Applications for these grants must also be completed and submitted online at www.fundacionbotin.org between February 2 and May 8 of 2015.
