Wifredo Lam Scholarship

The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam (Wifredo Lam Center for Contemporary Arts) in Havana announces its call for entries in the Wifredo Lam scholarship for Creation. The purpose of this project is to support visual arts creators working in any discipline: painting; drawing; sculpture; installation; object art; performance; video, and even internet art or art created with new media. The scholarship will be granted to a project of creation never before published. The winner will receive a budget of 8,000 Cuban pesos and 1,000 CUC for participating in the research and production of a proposal that will be exhibited in the Center's halls the following year. The call is open to any Cuban artist who resides on the Island and who offers fresh and innovative thematic, conceptual, or linguistic proposals that convey the genuine values of the Cuban society and culture in its multiple complexities. Participants must submit their proposals by October 29, 2010, at the headquarters of the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Wifredo Lam. The Jury¿s decision will be announced to the public on December 8, 2010, at the Center. More information can be found at:
