International Grants for Curatorial Projects

The Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño and the Instituto Distrital de las Artes invite Colombian and foreign curators living abroad to participate in the call for International Grants for Curatorial Projects. Intended to develop a curatorial research and an exhibition based on local artistic production, the call aims to promote a critical analysis of the artistic practices in Colombia and the exchange of experiences between Colombian and international agents working in the field of the visual arts. Categories: Colombian Curator: Must present a curatorial project centered on Colombian art that, if chosen, will be exhibited abroad during 2016 with the logistic and promotional support of FUFA and IDARTES. With the stimulus—minus any government taxes that may apply—the winner in this category will cover the costs of the curatorship, work permits, transportation and living expenses during the exhibition abroad. International Curator: Will develop curatorial research in the city of Bogota and will organize an exhibition based on the local artistic production. The exhibition must be presented in a well-known space in a foreign country and must rely on the logistic support of FUGA and IDARTES. The curator selected will be assigned an advisor during his or her research and will participate in exchanges—organized by FUGA and IDARTES—with several agents working in the artistic field. Stimulus: One per each category Fifteen Million ($15,000,000.00) Colombian pesos per category Deadline to submit proposals: April 15, 2015 Announcement of Winners: June 11, 2015 More information and application forms available at: http://www.culturarecreacionydeporte.gov.co/convocatorias-2015/programa-distrital-de-estimulos/fundacion-gilberto-alzate-avendano/beca-internacional-de-proyectos-curatoriales
