Artistic and research residency scholarship

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and AECID, through the Real Academia de España in Rome, announces the artistic residency and research program for citizens of Ibero-America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela). The deadline for the application process expires on February 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m.
The purpose of the program is to contribute to the training of creators, restorers, and researchers to make this institution a platform for the international creative projection of Ibero-America and achieve greater cultural ties with Europe.
A creative environment is formed from the relationship between the Academy and the scholarship recipients. The latter benefit from this opportunity to develop in their professional careers while contributing, with their artistic creation and research projects, to achieve the aims of the institution that receives them.
Applications can be made for one of these two types of projects: artistic or creative; and research projects with a link to Rome or the Academy itself.
The projects should be presented among the related disciplines, in the one that best represents the main specialty: visual arts: painting; sculpture; engraving; comic; photography; video art; applied arts: industrial design, graphic design, and fashion design; performing arts; literature (Valle-Inclán scholarship); cinema; music; musicology; architecture; conservation and restoration of cultural wealth (artistic and cultural heritage, tangible and intangible); archives, librarianship, and documentation; academic studies: art history and aesthetics (theory, philosophy, and art criticism); museology, curating and artistic mediation; gastronomy: creativity and innovation of culinary techniques.
Grant:
a) Monthly payment, gross amount: € 1,200.
b) Accommodation at the Academy, without maintenance. The accommodation regime is individual.
c) Travel assistance to the destination center according to your country of origin.
d) Travel assistance insurance and accident insurance.
e). Production expenses will be covered by the Academy in charge of its chapter II. The amount assigned to each project may not exceed 20,000.
The residency will last from one to eight months, between January 16, 2022, and September 15, 2022, with the possibility of an extension of up to three months (until December 15, 2022), upon the Directorate of the Academy's request. This extension of the execution period may in no case lead to an increase in the amount of the scholarship, and it will be approved when circumstances arise that advise it for the correct completion of the project and prior approval of the DRCC.
