dOCUMENTA (13) and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros (CPPC) have created a curatorial fellowship that offers Latin American curators and scholars the chance to participate in the development of dOCUMENTA (13), an exhibition that will take place in the summer of 2012 in Kassel, Germany. The call is open to young arts professionals from Latin America whose works focus on contemporary art. Curatorial fellows will have the opportunity to gain experience by participating in and developing several projects and public programs for dOCUMENTA (13), as they work in close partnership with the Project Management Office. Candidates must be interested in working with artists in the creation of art born from the interaction of different groups of people and from the development of a diversified and interdisciplinary program for visitors within a wide-ranging artistic, scientific, and research context. The fellowship lasts five months, from February 15 to July 15 of 2012. Selected participants will receive a grant of 10,000 euros to cover travel, lodging and personal expenses. To participate, candidates must have at least two years of working experience in the field of contemporary art-museums, galleries, non-profit organizations, artist studios, etc.-and ideally must also have experience working in the production of art and participatory programs. Likewise, applicants must have excellent writing skills, be fluent in written and spoken English, and must be somewhat proficient in German. Candidates are required to submit the following materials (in PDF format) by email: 1) A letter explaining the candidate's interest in contemporary art, curatorial work, as well as the reason behind his/her decision to apply for this fellowship (no more than 500 words) 2) A C.V.
