Beca Artus in Peru Expands its Offer this Year to Pivô, in Brazil

Becas Artus, an independent non-profit association that supports contemporary Peruvian artists, founded a year ago by Patricia Exebio, Carlos Marsano, Mariana Moreyra, and Daniela Belmont, announces the opening of its call for participation to win an artistic residency at Pivô, a cultural association located in São Paulo, Brazil. The artistic residency will last from August 27 to December 9. The call aims at "supporting the artistic growth, creative reflection, and professional development of young Peruvian artists through grants for international residencies." The first Peruvian artists that won the grant were Fátima Rodrigo and Genietta Varsi, who respectively won 2018 residencies in London's Gasworks and the Delfina Foundation. This year, the Beca Artus incorporates the Pivô Research residency, focused on the development of the practice in the studio, allowing artists time and space for working and reflecting on their practices through interaction with different agents from the local art scene, promoting critical thinking and the interaction with other artistic processes. The deadline to summit all applications for the grant is May 15. More information about the rules is available at: www.artus.pe
