Hangar, a visual arts production and research center, and the Banco Sabadell Foundation announce the opening of their call for participation to win a predoctoral researcher fellowship. Aimed at predoctoral researchers who are in the process of completing their doctoral thesis, the call will consider practice based artistic research projects that involve a prototyping, formalization or production phase. This phase will be developed during a four-month residency at Hangar. The main objectives of the grant are, on the one hand, to encourage and support a predoctoral researcher in the development of his/her research project and experimental work; and on the other, to facilitate collaboration agreements between conveners and other entities, such as universities and research centers, associated with them. The call is aimed at predoctoral researchers of any age, nationality and place of residence that are in the process of developing their doctoral thesis in a Spanish university. Candidates must submit research projects that involve a prototype, formalization or production phase. The fellowship will last four consecutive months and will take place during the 2015-2016 academic year. The exact dates will be determined by mutual agreement between Hangar and the person whose project was selected. Applications must be submitted online. Only one research project per candidate will be accepted. The winner of the call will receive a salary of 4,000.00 euros (before taxes), a production budget of 5,000.00 (before taxes), up to 1,000.00 euros to cover the fellow's round trip travel from his place of origin to Barcelona, accommodations and work space at Hangar. Organizers will also offer technical support for the development and production of the project and will make Hangar's network of partners available to the fellow.
