Beatriz González Receives the Latin America Regional Award at the 2024 International Public Art Award

Colombian artist Beatriz González has been awarded the Regional Award in the Latin America category at the sixth International Public Art Award 2024. She received the recognition for her work Auras Anónimas, a piece that explores the theme of collective memory through a public art approach.
The jury highlighted the work for its ability to create a deep connection with the audience, encouraging reflection on history and the traces left by individuals in urban spaces. González, a key figure in the development of contemporary art in Colombia, uses her characteristic focus on the human figure in this work, but with a contemporary twist that invites reflection on the social and cultural issues facing her country and the region. In this way, Auras Anónimas offers a unique perspective on social memory and the cultural context of Colombia and Latin America.
The International Public Art Award aims to highlight the importance of art in urban spaces, promoting greater appreciation of public art worldwide and recognizing projects that foster interaction and critical thinking within communities.
