Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia in 1938. She studies Architecture at the National University of Bogotá and Renaissance History with Marta Traba. She travels to New York to research Abstract Expressionism and to Netherlands to study courses in graphic arts. She lived in Amsterdam for six years, 1960 to 1966.
Beatriz Gonzalez has an extensive list of Individual and Group Shows that include exhibitions in New York, Houston, Indianapolis, Buenos Aires, Mexico D.F., Sao Paulo, Madrid, Paris and Tokyo among others.
She just received the Premio Nacional de Vida y Obra 2006 (National Lifetime Achievement Award) in Bogotá, Colombia.
