The museums of the Banco de la República in Colombia join the 2015 celebrations of the International Museum Day by inviting their publics to participate in the following photographic activity: Have you noticed that plants grow through concrete cracks and that many ruins are transformed into gardens over the years? Capture in photographs scenes that show the impact of mankind in nature and the manner in which the natural world nonetheless manages to recover. Share them in social media using the hashtag #VidaEnConcreto from May 1 through May 31 of 2015. The International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18. In 2015, the day will celebrate the theme "Museums for a Sustainable Society." The International Council of Museums (ICOM) invites museums and cultural centers around the world to encourage among its public the idea of building a less wasteful and more caring society that takes advantage of the natural resources in a respectful manner.
