Artur Lescher. Elipticas series

The three sculptures comprising Lescher¿s installation, part of his series Elípticas, will remain for a year in the Museum grounds. These resin pieces are mounted on a wooden base that acts at the same time as support and territory. Beside being closely connected to each other, these works invite the public to participate. Artur Lescher¿s is the second installation in the museum¿s grounds. The purpose of such projects is to pen a space for local and regional artists, whose works are conceived specifically for the site where they will be located, and also to ¿serve as an area of transition between the street and the exhibition space,¿ according to Marcelo Pacheco, chief curator at Malba-Constantini Collection. Artur Lescher was born in Sao Paulo and studied art and philosophy at the Catholic University there. His earliest shows were held in the 1980s. He was twice invited to the International Sao Paulo Biennial, and he currently lives and works in Sao Paulo
