AID for AIDS is a New York-based non-profit organization that provides medicine to HIV-positive people and offers treatment and training to people in need in Latin America and the Caribbean region. The artistic community has joined this project, promoting a cultural and political dialog about the scourge of HIV. Artists for Aid for AIDS (AFAFA) invited three internationally renowned Latin American artists ¿Aziz + Cucher, Teresita Fernández, and Guillermo Kuitca¿ to create works in benefit of AID for AIDS. Some of these pieces were shown at Art Basel Miami Beach 2004, thanks to the generous support of its director, Samuel Keller. This organization is supported by big collectors and institutions, like Patricia, Gustavo, and Adriana Cisneros, Violy McCausland-Seve, and The Museum of Modern Art.
